Finally made it to L.A. This Air France flight has been the worse I have had in all my travelling experience, and I have travelled everywhere. First the Paris thing. I ended up in the Eiffel Tower by myself. Have you ever felt weird by just being somewhere you were not supposed to be?
You make this whole scheulde in your head and something happens, and you get it all twisted.

At least the tower was amazing. And at night this view rocked and was worth every euro I spent on two cabs... from nowhere to the Eiffel Tower, and from the Eiffel Tower to nowhere.

By the way FUCK B&B Roissy hotel.

Trapped in Paris

What happens when some frenchies decide to be on strike for some hours and make an Air France plane delay for 3 hours? What happens is that you get stuck in the middle of somewhere's hotel with a non working Tv and a lot of pissed people with you (not in the room,in the hotel i mean).

Lost connection to my L.A flight and will delay one day.Never ever this happened to me before. Funny thing is being 2 hours in a cue to get another flight and rescue the situation I meet this girls, one of them when she found out had to stay one night in Paris started crying and left the place.

Viva Air France...

I love writing. I love publishing stuff. No matter how stupid a subject might sound, if you write about it in a good way, it will "look" good. Thats the power of the press. I have been shooting and writing for magazines for years, from spanish, japanese, english, american, french to german mags. For a long period of my life I was a heavy contributor for many magazines, mostly skateboarding, but also fashion, newspapers, or even fanzines. And I loved it.
For some reasons I stopped. An urge to find myself forced me to stop shooting photos, writing and everything in between, and here I am, a couple years later coming back to the publishing world with the new UNO magazine articles:

This is my review for the amazing FX35 from Panasonic I did. I have a gadget review section and I will be reviewing gadgets every issue based on my everyday use. The Fx35, despite what they say, it has the same optics as the Leica cam. Different branding that is...

The "shoppinG" section where I review different stupid shit I find in every city I visit. Next one will be Los Angeles maybe, or even Madrid, who knows. Is just small stuff that makes a city full. In this case I did New York, and you cant go wrong with the brownies, the Supreme hat or the Nintendo pez, oh, and of course the STARKS laces!

I am in Frankfurt for the "bright" tradeshow.Its locared in an old
police station in the middle city and every brand has a room.there are
a LOT of rooms, can't think why a police station had this many rooms.
Lot of brands,lot of crap, lots of girls promoting, and some homies
around like the Akomplice guys, dream team, Chris from Freshjive, and
all the SB fam.
And tonight I will be back home ready for a goodbye dinner spanish style with tapas and good food.

And working a little bit in this hotel room wont hurt me. I really enjoy working at hotels. They are peaceful, and they always have nice tables to work at, oh, and a lot of natural light.

We all have dreams. One of mine was to develop, grow and do something out of my heart, my skills and my passion and I called it WORLDWIDE.
Worldwide was born, and then my stuff was sold in Digitalgravel.com, Supreme NYC, Reed Space, a shop in Russia, some shops in Spain, and few other stockists around, and this dream came true.
I will always remember the comment of this fool who called himself my friend and said "I shit on Ivan's tees".
After that, I have been pushing a trillion more buttons to keep all this big machine working. Im not just doing tees now, but this tee shirt game is the last on my priorities now, as me and my team we doing website building, graphic design and anything possible to keep stacking the goodies. The tee game is what I have fun with, so this will always go on.
Still a few tees from last season at DG! Hurry up!
With that in mind, two new projects coming out this month: The Digital Gravel water Project and the "Amy is the new Sid" ultra limited t-shirt dropping exclusively at DIGITAL GRAVEL.

So yesterday was the last day of B&Butter. Thank god.
The weather is really hot, really humid, and there's a lot of people in the city. It just stresses me out.
Few friends in town, so what best than kicking it with them? Chad, Nima and Buba we just recordered some video at these guys apartment in the ghetto streets of Barcelona. You will see it up soon.
Im there just letting them know how to use a washing machine and talking about new projects, and what the inspiration and shit about them.
Yesterday went to the Trustnobody party, hella fun. We all were there, thanks Tonete was great.

So my homie Julio already wrote about the very same thing I was about to: The new American Apparel store in Barcelona.
Heres his piece from his blog:
"So yeah today they opened American Apparel in Barcelona and somehow it was some sort of a big deal. at first at was like wow now i dont have to go to nyc or london to grab some decent shirts and then i was like great now all this borderline poeple i cant stand are gonna rock the same tees i rock... just great.
I finished work over 4:30 and i was planing on getting some sushi first but Ruth showed up with some bags saying "Julio you are sooooo gonna love, it is packed of hot chicks", in my mind i had all those half naked girls from the cathalogs all over the places and then when i got there "pfffff" just a bunch of fags and people i knew chilling and laughing about their no chasing policy, because seriously THIS IS BARCELONA! gipsy land. Wen end up betting about how long is it gonna take until they have to alarm every single thing in that store (furniture included)."

In my personal experience, I tried to get some present for my girlfriend. All the underwear in that shop is "ready for porn" style, and every now and then we all need some pice in our lifes. So I asked to some close to model clerk, the girl was retarded and didnt understand really well my amazingly good spanish. Great. She was a foreigner. Somehow she maaged to say "Ask the other girl". I asked the other girl, who was anorexic or a junkie, and asked her for something sexy. Her dress was a plastic bag from the supermarket I usually shop at (Close ressemblance). She was cool thou. She helped me and she even told me what she considered sexy.
Got something, and went to pay. I got the "Boy short" for girls. And when in line...baaaam! This 20 years old guy with moustache and a head band who worked there comes to me and tells me "this is not for a guy uh?"... ... ... ...

"I know".
I paid and I left.

I will be back to get more sexy presents.
Also, I love to see these type of socialities who think they hype and cool and take for granted can live from their parents money forever.

A weekend of relax, videogames, sniper rifles and friends. And yeah, a heavyweight session of Call of Duty 4 (Saturday and sunday), even online!
Im getting some experience points to get better guns so watch out out there.

I went to check the last rifle from Moski, the best car shaper/painter out here. This thing was ridiculous, it even had some tripod legs and the plastic bullets were fast fast.

Yes. In the north shore enjoying a weekend with friends,waves and surf. Its been my first time surfing, and let me tell you this surf thing is soooo hard but fun to do.
Besides surfing enjoyed a session of paintball and got hit three times when i jumped from a hidden position and went out Rambo style shooting in a capture the flag game.
You can see my chest today...got a third nipple. Shit hurts. And i was wearing some kind of bullet proof vest...
Tomorrow back to the city, and the next week out the city again for another week.

These days life is been kind of strange, with not so mny things to do and lots of stuff in my mind.
Someone posted a message about why I wasnt skating or why I never posted pics of me skating... the answer is simple, I barely have that many free time to be skating. Last time I skated was in the Amsterdam skatepark and I had such a rush and had such a good time...

And life goes on with trips cancelled, new stuff in hands and just a couple things I have in mind. These last months projects have been coming and leaving, and all I can think of right now is having fun and travel, see my friends and enjoy life.
My friend Chad might be crying right now. But thats the way things go these days.

And this new project finally jetted off and I wanted to drop the news before the official release is out: Skate Family is a new project based on a webpage/blog where some of the "old school" from the skate community will be blogging and dropping bullshit without any "politically right" approach. I will be posting regularly there, I even have a bio and pics! Amazing. I even look serious (Loving my hair cut thou!). Its entirely in spanish, and entirely shot with LUMIX Panasonic cameras (Loving that camera!). Expect big things from this project...besides tour pics and some nonsense.

So I have the honour to be one of the bloggers of a new blog/webpage/magazine/whatever you want to call it that will see the light at the end of may. Im really excited.
The project is aimed to create a space where a bunch of skateboarders, industry related individuals linked with skateboarding will be blogging and posting everything they feel like. I can say that this is going to be a cool page, just wait.
The tools to do so is a new LUMIX camera, and my spanish skills, because is a spanish written blog (Finally!).

Thanks to technology, I can communicate with friends from all over the world. Luckily for me, to be able to do that, I dont have to spend a lot of money or time. It is important communicating with friends you have, in case you need to vent, or a simple chit chat about the state of things, politics, sex or even whats going on in their cities. I have friends in the west coast of America, and thats 10.000 kilometres away from my house, away from my "barrio". mY Blackberry, AIM and THE "SEND voice note" from Blackberry keep me these friends a little bit closer. Nima and the "Foreign Family" are what I can consider true friends. Sounds crazy having true friends in the other side of the world, but thats the way things go... they have the honor to be on my small list! Im pretty sure I fall into the same category, because I know they miss me.

While talking yesterday night with Nima about what he been up to lately (Im not going to say anything about Nadia Styles), he mentioned he was giving the final touches to some video... and here it is.

I have been seeing this guy for months in events and at the office, and the dude is so chill and so humble I couldnt believe he would be that show killer. Amazing concert. Amazing everything. Worldwide Corvette

Well, the title is a little bit out of reality but sounds good to me.
So I have posted about cars before. I posted about Honda cars before, and today is time to post about Corvettes.
The reason? I was lucky to try the new C6. To set it in numbers: 0-100 km/h in 4 seconds. Easy as that. I was invited by Corvette Spain to try this new beast through the city in a 1 hour rider through the inner city and some small and fun roads away from radars.

The blue beast was my toy for the day.

I step in the car and the first thing I see is something I saw in the news years ago: The speed and other specs of the car (revs, gas...) in your windshield. How amazing is that? Is like some Star Wars ship right there in front of you.

For one hour I drove the thing, and although is an amazing car, I feel the suspension was one of the worst I have ever tried. The thing was giving me back pain after 10 minutes of driving. The driving was really smooth, like butter, and the interior makes you feel like you in a race car.
Equipment wise, I think it had the regular stuff for a 60k euros car: A Dvd, a GPS, heated seats, electric-everything... The usual stuff. One good thing about the car was pushing the pedal, and the exhaust sound. It was unreal. With an engine like this, you can be collecting speed tickets in a day and end up without a license in two, but just going from 0 to 80/90 km/h in a red light was...unbelieveable.

I know a little bit about cars, not a lot, and I can tell you I got the very same sensations in a S2000 than in this car, and the cost is nearly half of it. I know the S2000 has "only" 250 hp, and the C6 was close to 500 hp, but for an "everyday" car, I'd go with the small japanese bullet aka S2000.

Worldwide 5 panel "Hustlers Marathon" Hat

Barcelona. April 2008:
The spanish brand WORLDWIDE drops its first 5 panel hat in Fall08.
The hat follows the success of the "Hustlers Marathon" tee, a collabo between Digital Gravel a the brand. The tee was called "Hustlers Marathon" for the race most of the players in the socalled "streetwear" game to get money, to get their goals.
The hat features the colors of the tee, and "Hustlers Marathon est. 2006". This has an explanation: Ivan J, the head in front of Worldwide and Nima, head of DGravel, met in 2006 in one of the Bread and Butters editions in Barcelona. Ever since, although Nima denies it, they both fam and known hustlers in their game.
The 1977 is the year Ivan was born, and when "everything begun".
Final production hat will have inside printing and labeling, as this is the first sample from the Los Angeles factory where Worldwide produces.

Training & Apple

Ok so I want to give a review to this wonder I got last week. The Time Capsule from Apple. I was kind of sceptical at the begining. I wondered "What is it? a hard disk to make it work with the Time Machine software from leopeard OS?"

Apple Time Capsule. 500 Gigs of pure madness. Wireless router. Hard disk. No cables. Again... NO CABLES. Nice and cool. This thing just sits next to my Imac with a single cable plugged in the power, the modem plugged in and I even plugged a printer to share the printer between the 2 computers at the office number 2.

You plug this thing and it appears in your desktop. fast and easy. Actually, REALLY easy. I try not to read Apple gadgets instructions and try to make it work without it. And usually it works...

The thing gets an update on firmware and thats it. You have 500 gigs to drop heavy files on, make backups, store porn... You name it. Best and easy gadget. I love it.

And all these old gadgets are gone and done now. A harddrive (150 gigs lameeeee) and a wireless router...all gone! Thanks Paco.

And in another shape, another toy for home. Gotta train my punches, soon the ninja in me will be back (It never left thou).

Its been another week without posting anything.

Last post was my Panasonic meeting which went amazingly good. Big things in the works. That can only mean gadgets, and fun, and everything in between.

So I will post some of the stuff that went down this last week, and sorry for not posting, I think Im in a kind of depression for some reasons, and dont feel like posting, but every once in a while its all good, I get to update my friends around.

The one in the bbq is BUBA, you might remember him because hes in a lot of my posts. He's a friend, and a hustler. He just got the Sole Tech position as marketing guy at the new Sole Tech HQ in Barcelona. Congrats my friend. Now we are "enemies", but he just knows I will crush him in the battlefield. Ejem.
And yeah, the bbq was for my lady b-day. A full weekend of celebration and fun. Our first bbq in our house that turned to be great, and then we found out we couldnt do anything else because some neighbor complained and we got the warning from the janitor. Amazing. After that, a great hotel night and massage the morning after. This is how we do it!

Thats it. Simple and loud: The new Blackberry is coming soon. As the Civics... those who know me, know that my cellies play a crucial part in my everyday. One "hotline" is plugged in an "illegal" I-Phone, and the other one is in a Blackberry Curve. As some would say, its best of both worlds, so just finding out theres a new toy in sight, and coming from the Balckberry camp, I can only assure...this one will be mine ASAP.

A little eastern surprise pack for me today. Chocolate and candy aswell as chocolate eggs (Not those ones you perverts). A lot of sun. Some walking, and some work.

As usual, in my holidays, theres always a little bit of videogames. These holidays its been "Army of two"s turn. I got this game from EA Spain, one of my sponsors and Im really happy about it. I know some of you are videogamers as well, so im going to give you the heads up on the game, as I have been playing quite some times these days:

-Its an arcade. A classic arcade where you see the charcater and all. No 1st person shooter.
-You also control another charcater, your buddy. Not "controL" like it sounds, more like hes doing his thing but you can give him orders.
-The weapons extremely suck at the begining. You have to earn money to be able to get better guns, and you can also tune them up to maximize stats like power, precision... This way to get better guns sucks for those who like me, like to be shooting like a maniac from the very begining.
-The enemies are somehow dumb. They just shoot and hide. They dont even pretend like they are thinking about killing you.
-The graphics are great, and the ambience is in irak and some other guerrilla like places.
-You only have like 3 granades. Which sucks, as I enjoy throwing a lot of granades when I play these types of games.
-Recording your progress. I cant save my position as I get deeper and deeper in the game. Something is wrong with the game or with my PS3 or this crap doesnt save every mission I complete.
Anyways, the game is allright, but I still prefer Call of Duty 4 (Which I already finished).

NOTE: Last episodes of O.C (Season 3) are getting kind of dark...Dark like Darth Vader dark. Buba and Jos say the 4th season is unwatchable, a piece of shit basically. Im not getting my hopes high yet, but Im checkinh real Newport on my next California trip (Real soon you asian couple, as soon as you get married and get a flat in SF Im staying some days).

Also, THE HUNDREDS, opened a new store in SF that looks like "The Goonies" last scenes, where they find the treasure and the pirate ship. I will email Bobby and ask him about his inspiration. Maybe he answers...

A good weekend that turned into a short week thanks to eastern.. The sunday begun with a visit to a mall, then off to XXX house, my friend whos in charge for all over Spain xxxxxxx company.

The makeup trafficking. Tons of stuff, all colors, every piece, every accesorie. Ah, the good side of marketing is getting xxxx stuff for what they/I call "influencers"...

And off to SushiYa, one of my best place for Sushi and everything in between. I think this is the fastest japanese restaurant I know. 3 dishes for 7 euros. Everything fresh, and really good, but the place looks soooo bad.

In & Out: New York, Hong Kong, Madrid...

A weird week. Productive at least, and fun. This week its been a weird mix between a never ending flu (Which I still suffer in the shape of nasal constipation and constant headaches when I work too much), some presents from friends from different places in the world, and a sense of relief when gettings things done. Mix that up with a quick Madrid trip to give a presentation and you have one of the weirdest mixes of last weeks.

Worldwide: A couple new projects finished this week. Might sound cheesy, but loving both of them. Can´t wait for production and no, no apparel this time, something else this time. Fun thing is that its something I will also "use" as my own T-Shirts, wait and see... Soon in a shop near you.
And as I said, got some presents from friends this week and bought some gadgetry for home to spice up the office a little bit:

From Hong Kong with love. This photo doesnt make justice to what Yumi brought/send from her quick trip to H.Kong. She just brought every imaginable magazine related to shoes, apparel and fashion. Thanks a ton Yumi.

From New York a stack of laces from Alex from STARKS/ Supreme. People cant front with STARKS. Hi quality and an attention to detail never seen before in laces. Props and respect. And speaking of Supreme...

Erosion magazine is a mag from Spain that covers skateboarding. As you might remember, we all went to the Amsterdam wear test of the Nike SB "Zoom tre ad". Got featured in a wife beater and holding my skateboard on my head. A "nice" image to show my mom, who just told me "You look bad with beard". Thanks mom.

And EyeTv is what I had been waiting forever. You simply connect this USB alike thing to the laptop or computer, place a mini antenna around the home and you get your own "Tivo" in your laptop or computer. Amazing. really. I just didnt believe on it til I could use it myself. Also, the software has this "Tv programs" that connects somewhere and you get the whole Tv list, double cick on it and scheulde for recording straight to your hard drive. Really. Try it, it was like 100 euros, way cheaper than a TV and cheaper than a hard drive recorder for your Tv.

And the last present came from Madrid, straight from the Apple warehouse: The new Aperture, this amazing software to get your photos right, give them shine and work with them like you got a light table in your computer blah blah blah... Will give you an update of it when I try it some hours, still early to do so. Thanks P.L!

"The cure" yesterday. Amazing show. It was years since I was dancing in a concert, well, last one was Kayne West, but I barely danced. "Boys dont cry" and the crowd went crazy. It was my most expensive concert thou, 65 euros for a seated place. It helped the fact that I bought the ticket 5 months in advance. Anyways, a 3 hour show that gave me great fun and good moves.

Somebody left a message in the Obama post I did some days ago here in the blog, and dropped a mere "You might be interested in this".
This is a spanish version of the "Yes we can" song, some spanish song with the mere facts on why everybody and their moms think Obama will make a change in todays hell.
The guy playing guitar and all aint the best singer ever, but the honesty and heart speak by themselves.
I got interested in the rethoric and points of Obama when Nima insisted Obama would win elections months ago. By then I didnt even know who that guy was.
In Spain our politicians dont deserve a single post. So I just want to also say "Si se puede", because its not just a single song, its an idea that empowers will, strength and leadership, three pillars WORLDWIDE supports and believes in.

Zoom Tre AD Wear test

Sometimes I regret having to work a lot, having to go here and there, having to be on the phone for half a day, having to ship stuff in a hurry blah blah blah. And then you "have" to fly to Amsterdam to test some shoes and skate, meet your friends and be back the next day. I know. Hard.
Nike Sb put together a wear test with customers, riders and media from all over the world. It was crazy how the first time we did this was in 2006 or so, and it was in Oregon, and we barely were 15 people. Now we were like 80 people. Its crazy how time goes, and i', proud to say I have been part of this fmily for so long.
Here the pics of the wear test of the amazingly good Zoom tre A.D (Advanced Design), that James Arizumi designed and Im happy to say deliver.

Boat cruise

So this guy is Cristiano Babbi. He runs Nike SB for the whole Italy, and is one of the sons of Rocco Sifredi. His stories of sex, girls and lust have no end, and as a good italian, he doesnt give a fuck. Sharing a room with him can mean just him walking around naked, with a small towel, or everything at the same time. But hes a really amazing individual. Oh, he also worked at the famous Slam Jam for years handling the brands you love like Stussy, Bape or Supreme.

Kevin Imamura and Gert Kerkstoel, two of my favorite guys in the big Nike ship. I met Kevin after talking with him on the email 1 year before getting involved at Nike, and Gert was the euro boss for some time until he moved to USA to manage Action Sports as the big ppa for marketing. Gert, this is not ice-mag.com but its same as good!

And this in the left is Sebastian, the boss in the UK. Cardigan lover and used to sleep in meetings. You will be missed. The one in the right is some dude who said he designed the Zoom Tre and the P-Rod... nobody believed him.

Back to the blog life: its been some days of craziness, didnt have time to update this, and also couldnt come up with anything worth posting about. What else than writing about Worldwide?

As you might have to know, Fall08 is going to be the first season of the collection with its own catalog and a wide selection of colorways and more t-shirts, aswell as a serious, straight up distribution plan. To be a little more precise, the catalog has 20 pages (dont front) and features some stuff I wanted to do for some time. So the time we put in making the catalog and everything new has been...a lot. Peep a little bit below and you will see some photos and the post called "At night...when you were sleeping". Thats been the process of making everything happen in time.

Im pretty sure most of the people reading this who are involved in some type of hustle know what I mean. Going to sleep late, really late, waking up early to hit the "regular" job I have, and just thinking about a trillion things in the middle. Pretty exhausting.

Just to go back in time, back around 3 years ago, I was managing a full magazine for nearly two years where I was shooting most of the contents, writing and getting 45 pages of content every two months, at the same time I was building from zero Nike SB in Spain and Portugal. Sum up a sinking relationship and you have a pretty good scenario with me waking up at 6 am, going to sleep really late, and travelling around the country/world just to be able to not spend many time at home. So I´m kind of used to all this craziness.
And I do like it.

This is how my desk looked like in august 2006, middle of the "chaos" time.

I could never have a "regular" job, some 9-5 thing. I just couldn´t. I respect those who can, and as somebody tells me "maybe they are happy with it". I just need the rush of stress every now and then and the idea of just create something out of my mind (and heart).
And then is when Worldwide steps in.

I will never forget the phrase of someone who used to call himself "my homie" when I dropped the very first Worldwide tees back in january 2007: "I shit on Worldwide", he told to a friend (Who later told me). That moment just added more fuel to the fire that was getting shape.

From there, months of work to build a first season that debuted at DIGITALGRAVEL and then few days later in New York City at SUPREME (Who sold out in less than a week) & REED SPACE. Then came Re-Up in Boston who sold out in 2 days.
I still remember carrying around NYC Supreme's first order in several plastic bags. The look in the face of the clerks was priceless. When I mean priceless, I mean it. Imagine me and my lady stepping in Supreme with 3 supermarket bags each filled with tees and dropping them at the counter. You get the picture. Alex, you WORLDWIDE fam for life.

Then came spanish shops (Trust Nobody, VSD, Dolce Vita and Paxanga) and euro shops (even Moscow repping Worldwide!).Then with season 2 few more shops felt the brand and got some WWIDE flavour.
Even as Im writing this, this feels just like a mission, a mission as Jeff says "To Darrin Hudson", I can easily say "To the guy who shitted on Worldwide".

Most of the european shops that will be able to peep the catalog will order for Fall08 delivery, and the sell in begins in some days. This time every country will have their own agents and sample set along with everything that makes a sell-in legit.
Its time to step the game up, and as I told Alex long time ago, I still call this "season 3", although in this case, the fall08 offer it should be called "season 2.5". You will see why.
New designs in the linesheet, with influences from everything that surrounds my life, lots of colors of my fave tees, even sweatshirts and my very first hat that will rock to death.

I just felt like I had to write about all this in a moment that many changes might happen.
Worldwide is staying true to its roots, to its influences, and to its international family. You know who you are.

Giving Steve a second chance

I promised Jeff I'd give Steve a second chance.
Nico checks this one every now and then and knows what I mean... Bread and Butter Barcelona, some weeks ago: First thing I saw at the Staple booth was Jeff showing me the IPhone update that went live the night before!
Mr Staple himself played with the icons and his joy was clearly visible.I didnt even know you could play with the icons. All I thought was that my Iphone was fried, and that I would not spend a single euro on one of these things until I got one for free. I got my Iphone in september, and I could only use it for 8 weeks til it totally fried for ome unknown reason. I have the theory I got the worst battery in the factory because this thing didnt last a day and it finally kind of exploded so...
Anyways, I already had an Ipod touch by the way, something close to the Iphone...but it wasnt the same.
Ten days ago I had an epiphany (I think that word exists in english). Is when you see like the future, or something similar, for the believers (Something Im not). I woke up from bed one day thinking somebody might sell replacement batteries for Iphones. Went to the office, connected to the ebay and I bought it straight away.
This sounds terrible, but its a 100% true story.

I got the replacement kit today. And I took the phone apart like they explain how in this video.

So, the process has begun, and lets expect better results than the time I tried to make my very own Treo650 into an "all black Treo"...

UPDATE: This thing doesnt work. I came to the conclusion that is not a matter of the battery, but of the main unit. That little part on top of the cell just heats a lot but nothing. Oh well.

My laptop died some days ago in Germany. For some unknown reason this thing just froze.
So, with a little bit of patience, I could save all of the Worldwide files, pics and videos from like...ever. Everything went fireweire to my Imac and start over with the laptop, Leopard style.
For some reason is hard for me to believe that macs can suffer from any problem, but as I have seen today, these computers can also die or at least malfunction like Pc's.

And in critical timing, because we working on Fall'08 catalog and everything in between like new styles, stickers, colors, fades... everything. And just a few days for deadline, so we have to hurry up. Samples will be ready soon, as well as a major european pressence. Stay tuned...

And now in Germany for some days. The ISPO (Something like Bread and Butter but with less all over prints, lots of gore tex and few hot chicks).

The 1st flight departed Barcelona at 6 am, that means, I woke up at 4 am, and was at the airport at 5 am. Amazing.

First thing you see when you arrive to Munich (Or Munchen as the germans call it), is this BMW thing. It had a "button" on the floor (it was a sticker), that was supposedly an engine start button. You stepped in and you could hear the Bmw engine roar. Pretty impressive.

I have been a fan of videogames since I can remember. The first Spectrum I had suffered hours of abuse.
Nearly around 20 years later, new weapons and new tools to kill time, aka PlayStation 3.
One of my goals in life is to get sponsored by Blackberry, Apple and some sort of videogame deal, and right now, I can proudly say I accomplished two of the above (Which ones will remain a secret).

Chad and Yoshi discovered the joy of public biking. You pay 24 euros and for one year, and during that year you can get all the bikes you need from every stations in Barcelona, free for 30 minutes. That means you can literally be on a bike for anything. The face of joy of this couple was priceless seeing them cruising around on bikes.

This crew was walking around B&B with fluor colored clothes, tight spandex pants and retro glasses. No clue why they were like that, and why the girl on the pic looked so pissed (or is it stoned look?). Whatever they were promoting, no idea...

So I told "Tapas lover" (His name must remain secret) I had to write about this:

What would you think if you step out from the club where "the scene" is going to be, and you see some dude that was "in the tradeshow", all dressed up on fixed gear bike apparel and a white fixed gear bike...standing in front of the venue, at 4:30 am?
Was he pretending he just finished racing around and somehow he ended up in front of the club flashing his newly aquired bike?
Who ships a bike from middle-Europe to Barcelona to use it at 4am at night?
Who needs posers?
Why people try so hard to be cool?
Is it that hard to be yourself?
Who else wants to be like Fujiwara?

Fuck it, when we stepped out we had a good laugh on his cost. Not saying names, whoever feels ofended was the one playing the fool.

Its thursday night, and my feet hurt.
Been working hard on office number 1 til everything that had to be taken care of was taken care of.

Lost in translation

Full Bread and Butter week.
A lot of things have happened in the last days. Its been around a week I havent updated the blog, and every single day I felt like I had to. So here it is, a major update.

First, these last days I found out the best kept secret I had (In the shape of shoes), came to light.
The called "Dunk Hi Hay" came to the light nearly 2 years later after I begun with this project. Hypebeast posted about it, miszapas.com from Spain, and this blog called "CTOTHEJL" is who started the news.

To my surprise, the author of the post writes:
"The overall design is one of the most creative we’ve seen in a while; the bottom of the sole has strips of hay layered into it! This was an ‘06 sample, so you know it’s long gone. Why do all the good samples get thrown away?!"
This project begun in the middle of a conversation with Sandy Bodecker, head of Nike SB at that time. The idea was to make a Spain only shoe to conmemorate the anniversary of the "Don Quixote" book.

My idea was to have a shoe that Don Quixote himself would wear, like in the Middle Ages. The plan was to build a shoe made of different shoes.
For some reasons, this project could never be finished.

Lola, as shes known in Spain, is a korean writer and journalist who has written a tourism book about Spain. Shes been living 6 months here and touring all over the nation to gather enough info to write a book that sold out in Korea in weeks.
Shes writing her second book, this time about Barcelona, its people, architecture, and anything that can be interesting for a korean tourist.
She came home to interview me and my partner for the book and shoot some photos. In the pic with her book.

New hiphop musics sucks excepts for some stuff that comes out undercover. So I have to go with ordering prank calls cds like this one. "Rickey Smile" cd. Funny as hell.

My new daily driver.

One of the best Cds I have listened in a while. Mr Capone-E new "Dedicated to the oldies part 2". How to make a cd with double "flavour", that caters to a wide audience. If "mainstream" rappers could learn a thing or two from this guy they would be trillionaires. And yes, still a huge fan of this fella. He turned chicano rap to a new level, mixed it with oldies, threw some known names to his cds, and you get a genius with an amazing cd.

Its been 15 days of work, leisure and friends. Couldnt have been better.

The title of this post should be "Christmas boredom". If I take a look of the little things going on when on holidays I wonder what people can think if seen as a whole: Videogame playing, cookie making, more videogame playing, trading card collecting and wandering around the city like a zombie. Sounds like fun uh? Let me illuminate you with some images...

Jos is one of my best homies. Shes head of make up for this brand called "Make up forever", and soon to jet to Paris to take position as something important (No idea about the title but sounds like serious shit going on). This is her xmas present for me: Some kamasutra shaped chocolates... Trip with that. Amazing.

She even got a Nintendo DS from our mutual friend friendBuba, former Trust Nobody clerk, now in the magazine/blogging world.

And videogaming... "Moski" is one of the best car shapers in the area. He can make a fucked up car look like new in a matter of no time, and even has his own spot not too far from Barcelona.

He´s an avid videogamer. And speaking of games, I had never seen the new Call of Duty 4 game, and being a big fan of first person shooter, I can say this game is great close to amazing. Please, check it out and forget the role playing games and all, this thing takes all your stress out...

And cookie making. Got a receipe from the internet and got this as a result...

A week full of things, little things that make a whole...

Elia. You might remember her from "The Hundreds" blog in some post in the 1st week of november, when she was featured and Bobby talked about her tattoos. We were together in that trip. I met her at Nima's house, and found out she was a friend of a friend, and the rest is history. Nearly one week with her from morning to noon, and even night dancing made me realize she's a cool girl and a dreamer. Had to keep those lunches together. Shes a pro noodle slurper.

This plate is 30 years old. Trip with that: I went to my parents house this week and found out I have been eating in this plate since I was born. Thats some Disney heavyduty plastic plate right there, and one of my best memories when growing up...a fucking plate that will last another 30 years. Word to that.

Thats the OG Jimenez right there. Daddy Jimenez doing his new piece of curated ham. Its a tradition in Spain to have a pig curated leg at home and slice it slowly to celebrate the good times. Ah, we doing it to the fullest!

A full week without updating here is something crazy for me. Every single day I was thinking about posting some of the stuff going on and for some reason (call it work, call it "I need to relax and not touch a computer"...) I never did, til today, a full week and one day later.

Everydays morning just waking up. At least is quiet...

This is the look of my primary office and this week has been moving time. We going to another office not far away from this one. I have been more than 3 years in the same spot and somehow is kind of sad leaving...

Starbucks capuccinos a must...

..and this is one of the busiest commercial streets of Barcelona. A 11% increase in the use of credit carsd from last year. Does that mean we richer? No way...it means Visa is killing it right now, just wait for one month when those credit card bills arrive.

And stumbled on this dude's shop. He is basically doing like pouch-belts with different materials and had an undercover showroom under one of those display pilars, he basically moved one of those things and a new shop appeared. As you can see in the pic, its called KAF Barcelona.

And yes, after my Iphone experience, Im back with my loved Blackberry devices. Small, "do-it-all" celly... Curve 8310 my new weapon of choice. Goodbye Pearl, hail Curve!

Who cares about streetwear when you have trading Cards?

My girlfriend says Im an undercover "nerd". There are some facts that support that theory, and Im not going to deny ´em, but one that stands true, is my obession with trading cards. It shouldnt be considered a "nerd" passtime, but trading card collecting has been always considered as some kind of "nerdy" thing to do.
When I was younger (Say 15-16 years old), I used to visit this comic book store near my school, and having close to no money to spend on trading cards, I usually bought one or two cardsets, nothing fancy. Maybe every week I could spend money on like two or so, maybe even less.
I used to buy comic book trading cards, or even movies ones (Remember when the Alien 3 came out?). The fact of opening every package was magical... super natural, Im not going to lie, I even got excited doing so.
That was the begining of the 90's...

Lately, I have been visiting ebay quite often and I stumbled across some guy selling trading card boxes (yeah, boxes, with like 20-30 packages inside)... So I bought like 5 different boxes from different collections.

"Yo Raps!" from MTV was the Tv show some homie used to record on VHS tapes and move it in Sants to all the homies. That was the time when we all got interested in hiphop while we were skateboarding and doing close to nothing else. I found a box on sale and bought it right away. Yesterday my homie Chicho and Peny came home and found me opening packages... we together opened the whole thing and even scratched the "Win a trip to NYC to see the recording of Yo Raps!" prize... I didnt win a single pin or jacket or hat!

To be sincere, I was even going to send the winning card to the mailing adress if I got a winning card, but I didnt, so fuck it.

Yeah well...

And then, the other box, McFarlane's era of SpiderMan. Cmon, those were the days... dark, angry and powerful Spider-Man, when there were no films, no nothing, just comics and trading cards to support the webslinger! So yeah, you can feel my excitment in the photo (Oh, and the "Carriage" tee from Season2 too, soon to be on sale at DIGITALGRAVEL!)

Look at the special cards I found on my box! 3 prism cards! Man, if I would have gotten those like 15 years ago I would have been so fucking happy.... going to call my bro to let him know I got 3 special ones...
